This is a ret-conned version of things past - an album between my first and second albums that never quite was - collected from tracks originally released on the confusingly-titled ''Zamyatin Tapes' volumes 1 and 2 twelve inch singles, and the unmastered digital ep ''Zamyatin digitised''.

I chose my favourites from the vinyls (sic) and gave the digital tracks the chance they had always deserved. ''Yevgeny's Letter to stalin' is the most halfstep I ever got (always wished I had put it on one of the twelves) and 'Three Dots'' is a signpost towards the post-dubstep world which was just about to open up.

"1471" is soca-gone-wrong and stayed in the Clef live set for a long time. "One Hundred Point Three" was named after Rinse FM's original analogue frequency and was spun in 2007 by Aphex Twin at the Manchester Warehouse sessions. Around this time Radiohead spun "The Ballad Of The Broken 606" on a Radio 1 takeover set, which was a pleasant surprise. IIRC Thom announced it as "this is dubstep...allegedly" (or did he say apparently?)

Almost all the track titles are numbers, a tribute to the dystopian novel 'We'' by Mr Z himself.
