about

This is my debut album, originally released in 2007 on Blank Tapes, at a time when there were just a handful of 'dubstep' albums and other live acts. Probably as a result of this wide open space, it seemed to go over ok, getting reviewed in Mixmag, Kruger, XLR8R, Plan B, The Word, Time Out, The Imdependant, Music Week, The Fly, Knowledge magazine and was even one of The Sun’s Top Ten Dance Albums of the year, although quite possibly because they ran out of albums they knew at number 9.

I was thrilled when they played two tracks back to back on Radio 3's Mixing It (rest in power) and when Mary Anne Hobbs played a track on Radio 1.

I have a very happy memory of Appleblim dropping a white label of 'Çlapton Deep' at FWD (early on in the night, hardly anyone else was there, the best times). This track had a weird life of it's own, going on to be vocalled by Durrty Goodz as well as 'mashed-up' with a MIA acapella by Bassnectar.

about Open Hand Real Flames / MAGIC + DREAMS releases: I try to keep the prices low but if you don't have funds to buy please just drop me a line.

If you have been kind enough to buy then I sincerely thank you! It helps to pay for new releases.

If you have purchased a release and know somebody who you think would love it please send on the files - music that sits unheard might as well have not been made.

I can't really listen to it in any way objectively even after all these years. It seems pretty clunky but I don't want it to dissappear, and 'Hilda'' is still one of my favourites. I added the b-sides from the 'Hackney Centralist' EP at the end as a bonus.
